Appointment of Secretary to the Tribunal of Appeal Commissioners for Income Tax
In accordance with Section 107 of the Income Tax Act Chapter 15.02, Cabinet has appointed Ms. Dara Modeste to serve as Secretary to the Tribunal of Appeal Commissioners for Income Tax.
With immediate effect, all correspondence to the Tribunal shall be addressed to:

29 November 2006 - The Inland Revenue Department in an effort to alleviate the many errors and discrepancies involved in remittances submitted to the Department, invited representative from Companies to a Talking Taxes Forum.
The forum took take place at the NIC Conference Room on Tuesday November 29, 2006 at 9am.
The matters for discussion were:
- PAYE and the Employers’ obligation
- Employers Annual Returns and completion of TD5’s
- Contract Tax
- Hotel Accommodation Tax
- Motor Vehicle Rental Fee
- Insurance premium Tax
- Other Tax related Issues
31 August 2006 - The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) and our Department coordinated a Standard Integrated Government Tax Administration System (SIGTAS) Administrators meeting at the Auberge Seraphine, which span over two days, 31st August, 2006 and 1 September, 2006. The objectives of the meeting were: 1) to develop communication between SIGTAS systems and database administrators; 2) to discuss the major issues associated with the use of SIGTAS systems including new innovations and upgrades, and 3) to generate solutions for common problems among the administrators.
A total of twenty-one(21) persons attended the meeting, who included persons from Anguilla, Antigua, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Turks and Caicos. Also present were two members from the Eastern Caribbean Economic Management Programme (ECEMP).
The administrators agreed that constant communication needs to be maintained. In this regard, it was agreed that meeting should be held biannually. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for early 2007 in Turks & Caicos.
27 July 2006 - The Department hosted a Technical conference for Tax Administrators throughout CARICOM from 24 July - 27 July, 2006, at the Bay Gardens Conference Centre. The name of the Organization of Tax Administrators is "The Caribbean Organization of Tax Administrators (COTA).
The theme was "Options for building strong economies through innovative Tax Policies and Administration" and included 20-minute papers followed by 15 minutes questions and discussions.
